As a Certified Graduate Builder recognized by the National Association of Homebuilders, David Buchanan works to maintain and increase the professionalism in home building.
With a focus in the Rockwall and Heath areas, BBI's primary market serves houses in the $600,000 to $1,500,000 range. However, BBI is a true custom builder, having contracted structures from 1,000 to over 7,500 square feet. While homes comprise the vast majority of BBI's work, commercial structure contracts are also included in the portfolio.
BBI strives to get to know the client in order to better meet individual needs and desires. BBI also focuses on ways to provide the very best in quality home building while providing the best monetary value. Customer satisfaction is paramount, considering that a significant portion of BBI's new customers are a result of personal recommendations.
David and his wife Jennifer are a true working team. Jennifer provides the interior design touches that make each house a unique, stylish, and welcoming home. Both David and Jennifer are readily available to clients for expertise, consulting, and support throughout the building process and after. In order to provide the hands-on approach to building that is the cornerstone of BBI's construction philosophy, three to five contracts per year is the goal. This means that each client can expect and receive the attention to detail that produces a beautiful, quality home at the best possible price. And, speaking of price, BBI openly discusses the costs involved in building. Clients know what is involved, where they can make choices to reduce costs, and what the builder expects to earn from the project. Few people know and understand all the costs involved in construction, making BBI's approach an education as well as a partnership in this important and exciting process.
It is important to Buchanan Builders to include a special touch in many of the homes they build. These "extras" make BBI homes "installation-ready" for many of the amenities today's home buyers install immediately before or just after move in. Examples are: wiring and cabling for computers and digital telephone systems, built-in electronic systems (including security, closed circuit television, intercom, sound and music, and TV/theater systems), warming drawers in the kitchen, wine refrigerator/wine room, insta-hot water spigots, and prewiring for pool installation.
Energy efficiency is not ignored in BBI homes. While all Texas residents are proud of the many days of sunshine in our state, that same welcome sun is the biggest driver of energy use in Texas buildings. Buchanan uses Tyvek, an energy-efficient material for the home, as well as blown cellulose insulation, Koolply decking and high efficient windows. Energy efficient HVAC systems are selected and are carefully evaluated to create zones within the house to meet the unique needs of each area, creating a balanced environment throughout the home.
BBI provides a full-service building experience. Working with realtors, architects, and financial institutions, the client can rely on a coordinated effort that will produce the best results. Subcontractors are chosen for their ability to meet the individual needs of the client as well as their quality of work. The goal is to produce that near perfect home through active, on-site participation on the job site, readily available to his customers, and service after the sale.
